Do you like to be surrounded by the beautiful sea with golden fine sand beneath your legs and the salty sea breeze blowing against your face with you hair tied in a ponytail, wearing your favorite bikini?

It would be a dream come true if I stay by the beach. In a little wooden hut with dried coconut leaves as the roof, windows made from little twigs found on the sand, I wouldn’t mind if the doors even, made from little twigs. Fresh flowers as decorations by the little photo frames around the hut where I keep photos of beloved ones, a little jet ski beside my little hut and a little sampan just right across the yard. I would own a little business selling refreshments to tourists. Wouldn’t it be a paradise to live with someone who you adore the most?

I personally like Penang Island, which is located at the Northwest coast of Malaysia. Surrounded by the Straits of Malacca, Penang Island is the second smallest state in Malaysia. Unlike any other islands, Penang is a place, which is well known for delicious seafood and the price are surprisingly affordable. The local delicacies of this island are mouth watering. With hawker centers at almost every corner, you will never starve! Their famous local delicacy, Char Koey Teow or known as “stir-fry rice cake strips” is being stir-fried, as the name suggested. With light and dark sauce, belacan, freshly peeled prawns, and juicy bean sprouts combined together, it is being fried in high heat. Fresh bloody cockles are being placed on top of the stir-fried noodles and it is ready to be served. The aroma of the tasty Char Koey Teow will surround the entire restaurant or hawker stall and makes your stomach grumble in happiness. With chopsticks, you secure a mouthful of rice cake, which melts in your mouth when contact with saliva. As you dug into your plate of heaven, you find a fresh and juicy prawn every now and then. Wouldn’t that be a satisfying feeling to endure yourself in a plate of heaven goodness?

With the Char Koey Teow at Lorong Selamat standing at the top of the price list, at RM8 per plate, you wouldn’t even go for other stalls. It wouldn’t hurt to give it a try. Yes, it is expensive, but you’ll never know if it is worth the price if you never give it a try. Believe me, it is worth the money paid. Honestly, I am never a fan of stir-fry noodles but this Aunty here changed my perception.

The most famous Char Koey Teow in Penang at Lorong Selamat. Don’t worry, your GPS will be able to find it with no problem at all. *Photo courtesy of food-4-thot.blogspot.com, forgot to take a picture of it because I was too hungry and I probably gobbled up the entire thing in less than 5 minutes or so. L My apologies.

Have you ever got awakened in the mornings because your stomach has been growling so hard?

I don’t get that much often. Usually I only start to get hungry after drinking a sip of water. My mommy used to wake me up in the middle of my sleep and hand me a ginormous cup of lemon juice. She doesn’t do it anymore because I have been complaining and refused to wake up most of the time. Further more, I will get all grumpy and sometimes, I do yell. L I know she is doing it for the sake of my health. I promise not to whine and throw tantrums anymore.

So, the other day, I stumbled upon a friend’s Instagram. I saw her having lunch alone at Marche, which so happen that they make the best mushroom soup in town! Mushroom soup has always been my favorite ever since I tasted the one in Marche, Singapore.

I know I had to make a visit there so I went and invited my friend and asked her out for lunch on Tuesday, which so happen that they have Rosti on the lunch deal menu. Rosti, ahh talking of that makes me hungry, is made of potatoes. Potatoes have also been my favorite. I can actually survive on potatoes and mushrooms. Back to Rosti, the potatoes are being sliced into thin strips and then combined together to make it look like a pancake. And then, it is being fry into golden brown and served with sour cream or stew.

Of course I had Swiss Rosti with Chicken Cream Stew. J

Chicken Cream Stew was good. It was so thick, creamy and mushroomy. What surprised me were the chicken cutlets. They were so tender! I never like stews because they looked so gooey with parsley all around, and the color made it so hard to predict what I am actually putting into my mouth. I wasn't so adventurous with food, and I always make sure I know what am I putting in my mouth because there are a lot of things that I don't (like)eat. If I were to list them out, it would take forever.

And my dear friend, Wendy had Parmesan Baked Chicken Breast with Homemade Mash Potato.

As for drinks we had Watermelon Juice, which comes along with the Lunch Special Menu. It is affordable, only RM12.90 excluded government tax of course. It is a very nice place I could say. I have been quite a loyal customer although I don’t visit often. It is quiet, comfortable and air-conditioned! It has nice ambiance and the decorations make you feel at home.

Look how homey it is!

Feels like we’re in the countryside, having picnic. And oh, our Watermelon Juices are made of 100% fruits! No sugar added. So if you’re planning for an affordable lunch with long lost friends and hoping for quiet and peaceful surroundings, here is the place for you. Good food and good company!

I was quite upset that they don’t serve lamb sausages anymore.  I had it here 2 years back during a Christmas dinner. It was soooooo good, I am craving for more. Or you can say, desperate. You might be thinking they will serve it again during Christmas. NO! They don’t. I went back to the same restaurant on Christmas with disappointment. L

But nonetheless, I will definitely be visiting again hopefully I can have my lamb sausages this time round!

Go visit them!

Welcome and Good day!

First of all, welcome to my blog. As the blog url suggested, Human-GPS. There might be a lot of things going through your mind, wondering and pondering about the Human-GPS. GPS also known as Global Positioning System as we all know is a technology where it helps people to find their way through routes. According to Google, it is worldwide accurate in receiving signals. I find that amusing because my GPS sometimes bring me to some places that I've never been to. And we know we cannot really depend on technology so much..

I find that God created everyone differently and some of them have magnificent talents! Nope, I don't have any. I can't do magic, I can't grant you wishes and definitely can't eat without gaining a few pounds. L    But , I can amazingly remember the routes to places that I have been. Yeah, not so talented I know. But when it comes to finding places, I can say that I am pretty useful, no? You might not find it useful but my friends definitely do. Let me amaze you with an example.

“ A dear friend, I’ll name her C is from Indonesia. One fine day, she called telling that she was lost in the middle of Kuala Lumpur, driving in a rent car with her mommy at the back seat and a friend in the passenger seat. So she decided to call me asking for directions to a certain place. And amazingly, I gave the directions by guessing her location and arrived safely.”

Yes, achievements!

I have passion for writing, just so I haven’t really gotten the chance to work in this industry yet. So I decided to open a blog and write whatever I wanted not even hoping to get famous. What is there better in life than eating Macaroni & Cheese while blogging and blogging is free anyway. Here are a little details about myself;

I am Win Nie T, 23. Still an undergraduate in Communication & Media Management in a local university. I love writing and travelling. I have a weird interest, I love driving. Especially driving out station, I don’t even mind if my friends or family are asleep because I enjoy looking at scenery and yes I need landmarks to remember routes. I love pets too, not cats, I am afraid of cats. I will always have a little chill down my spine when I am sitting and eating and there lays a cat. Nope I am not giving it food and yes I have my legs on the chair.

I’ll blog mostly about travelling, pets and food, hopefully. And probably a tad bit about myself. Till then, see y’all around. J
